Mercator World Environment Day 2025

Mangrove Forest Planting & Crab Releasing: Restoring Nature, Empowering Communities

In celebration of World Environment Day 2025, Mercator Medical (Thailand) Ltd. proudly took another step toward sustainability by organizing an impactful Mangrove Forest Planting and Crab Releasing event on June 10, 2025, at the Mangrove Conservation Association, Hua Khao Subdistrict, Songkhla.

The meaningful event was honored by the presence of Mr. Kanabodee Sampatchanee, Director of the Songkhla Provincial Industry Office, and brought together key partners from both public and private sectors—including the Provincial Office of Natural Resources and Environment Songkhla, Department of Labour Protection and Welfare Songkhla, Marine Fisheries Patrol Center (Area 2, Songkhla), Baan Khao Rakkiat School, Rattaphum Environmental Committee, and our dedicated Mercator team.

  • 1,000 mangrove trees were planted, and 98 kilograms of coastal waste were collected—boosting biodiversity, protecting coastlines, and contributing to a cleaner, greener environment for future generations.
  • Participants also explored the inspiring Learning Center for Breeding and Nursing Blue Swimming Crab Larvae in Ban Hin Kop, home to the pioneering Community Blue Swimming Crab Bank. Since 2015, this local initiative has been reviving marine life and supporting sustainable fishing livelihoods.
  • The journey concluded with a visit to the Women’s Community-Based Enterprise Group of Hua Khao Subdistrict, where participants discovered innovative local products made from the beloved Singora Mango—a symbol of Songkhla’s agricultural pride and community entrepreneurship.

At Mercator, we believe in creating positive environmental impact while uplifting local communities. Together, we’re not just making gloves—we're making a difference.
